As we’ve said before, creative people achieve a kind of practical immortality through their body of works. Farrah Fawcett will be remembered not only as a pop culture icon but also as a serious actress whose film roles addressed important women’s issues of rape and domestic abuse. Oscar winner Robert Duvall, who co-starred with Fawcett in 1997 movie “The Apostle,” said in a statement: “Farrah had an outstanding talent, better than most feature film actresses that I’ve seen. She was great to work with and will be missed.”
The story of her cancer and its treatment is a complicated one with many issues to ponder, especially as the U.S. debates the future of health care in this country.
