Garrison Keillor drove himself to the hospital during stroke

We’re all thankful, of course, that Garrison Keillor was released from the hospital yesterday after suffering
a minor stroke earlier this week. But if you think you are having a stroke (or a heart attack for that matter) don’t do what he did: according to the Associated Press, Mr. Keillor drove himself to the hospital. This was a mistake and Mr. Keillor was lucky. If you are in a similar situation, call 911 or have someone close by do it for you.

Signs of a stroke:

  • Sudden NUMBNESSor weakness of face, arm, or leg, especially on one side of the body
  • Sudden CONFUSION, trouble speaking or understanding speech
  • Sudden TROUBLE SEEING>in one or both eyes
  • SuddenTROUBLE WALKING, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination
  • Sudden SEVERE HEADACHE with no known cause
