Celebrity Diagnosis was founded in 2008 by Michele R. Berman, M.D. and Mark S. Boguski, M.D., Ph.D.

We are a wife & husband team of physicians who have trained and taught at some of the top medical schools in the country including Harvard, Johns Hopkins and Washington University in St. Louis.  Our mission is both a journalistic and educational one: by reporting on common diseases affecting uncommon people, and including the medical facts behind the headlines, we provide a dynamic collection of Teachable Moments in Medicine™ to increase health awareness and medical knowledge.

Dr. Berman was co-owner and Clinical Director of The Pediatric Center, a private practice on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. from 1988-2000 and was named Outstanding Washington Physician by Washingtonian Magazine in 1999. She gained extensive experience in communicating health information to consumers by authoring a monthly column for Washington Parent Magazine. Dr. Berman is also a medical Internet pioneer, having established one of the first medical practice websites in 1997.

Dr. Boguski has held positions at the U.S. National Institutes of Health, the U.S. National Library of Medicine and in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. He is a former vice president of Novartis and was honored as a Visionary and Influencer by the Personalized Medicine Coalition in 2006. Dr. Boguski was elected to the Institute of Medicine of the U.S. National Academies in 2001 and is currently on the faculty of Harvard Medical School at the Francis Countway Library of Medicine and in the Department of Pathology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School.
