Ethan Zohn: I will be the “The Bubble Boy”

We are certainly glad to see that Survivor contestant Ethan Zohn is keeping his sense of humor during this difficult time of his Hodgkin’s lymphoma treatment. He is just about the start the most grueling of the regimen where he get multiple rounds of radiation therapy, followed by a stem cell transplant. In the video diary that he is keeping for People magazine, Zohn explains: “They lock me up in the hospital for 30 days and they pretty much destroy my body, get all the blood cells out of my body, and then they’ll reintroduce my stem cells and build me back up to perfect health.” During this process, he will remain in an isolation unit to prevent him from getting any potentially life-threatening infections. “For all you Seinfeld fans out there, I will officially be ‘The Bubble Boy’!” Zohn jokes.

We wish him success during this difficult period.
