Celebrity Diagnosis co-founder honored as Medical All-Star by Boston Red Sox

On July 16, Celebrity Diagnosis co-founder Dr. Mark Boguski was named a “Medical All-Star” by the Boston Red Sox. Dr. Boguski is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and also at the Center for Biomedical Informatics at Harvard Medical School. He is leading an effort to develop a comprehensive approach to using information from human genomes to usher in a new era of personalized health care. Dr. Boguski has held positions at the U.S. National Institutes of Health, the U.S. National Library of Medicine and in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. He was honored as a Visionary and Influencer by the Personalized Medicine Coalition in 2006. In 2001, Dr. Boguski was elected to the Institute of Medicine of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences - one of medicine’s highest honors.

Mark Boguski, M.D., Ph.D. is on the faculty of Harvard Medical School and is a member of the Society for Participatory Medicine, "a movement in which networked patients shift from being mere passengers to responsible drivers of their health" and in which professional health care providers encourage "empowered patients" and value them as full partners in managing their health and wellness.
